As of January 23, 2007, a new American law will require everyone entering the United States by air to have a passport under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. In 2008 entry into the U.S. by sea and land will also require a passport. Please note that this also refers to U.S. Citizens who are re entering U.S. from Canada.
